About

A woman with short brown hair, glasses, and light skin smiling outdoors, standing in front of green ivy and a brick wall.

I’m Rachael Lopez, a writer, admin ninja, connector of ideas, and accidental coach. I live in Melbourne with my husband, son, and cat, and I work in operations for an aid organisation.

I was the messiest child you could imagine. Smashed banana at the bottom
of the school bag, chaos crammed under the bed, always late on assignments (but very good at talking my way into extensions). Then, at 17, I heard John C. Maxwell speak about his book Today Matters, and something shifted.
That was my gateway drug to a life of colour-coded folders and binging productivity books. I came home and reorganised my life. I’ve been reorganising things ever since.

That moment opened a lifelong curiosity about how structure can serve both creativity and ministry. Since then, I’ve worked in church admin, started a not-for-profit magazine called Soul Tread, written for Christian publications across digital and print, and supported churches and organisations with both communications and operations.

I started Administry Training because I saw a gap between where people are and where they want to be. Most of the ministers and leaders I meet want to ruthlessly eliminate hurry à la John Mark Comer. They want spiritual disciplines and rhythms with a side order of slow, intentional living. The reality is that juggling all the ministry and leadership responsibilities with the current forms
of communication and ever-changing software means chaos quickly reigns.

Our organisations need more order. Our pastors and leaders need the skills to deal with the onslaught of messages and obligations.

Admin isn’t just about efficiency. The purpose of being organised is to create space for depth, creativity, and spiritual formation.
